Why does it seem most of my brick walls end up in North Carolina?

On my mother's side of my family, my Brewer line starts back with my gr.gr.gr. grandmother Martha Brewer who was married to Robert Lee Tate/Tait.  He was a veteran of the Revolutionary war and the war of 1812. I do not have alot on the Brewers yet.

My gr.gr.gr. grandmother was Elizabeth Hill born in NC  Her father was William Hill but cannot figure out which one of his wives was her mother.  She was married to Benjamin Lasseter born in Rutherford co., NC. They had 12 children.  I am descended from Benjamin & Elizabeth on both sides of my family.
