What countries and other locations are you interested in researching?
U.S., England, Ireland, Spain, Wales, Algeria, and more....
If you are a genealogy expert, what are your specialties?
I am self-trained. I started learning how to do genealogy research when i was seven years old (that's over 30 years of learning). I research legal documents: census records, church records, military records, birth, death, and marriage records. I find old newspapers with information in them, including obituaries. I also call and e-mail people to trade information. Genealogy is my all-time favorite hobby.
For what reason did you start genealogy research?
Genealogy involves so much. There is history, religion, math, culture, geograghy, language, science, and this all helps me to learn. It brings people together. Genealogy tells us where we are from. It helps us learn about all kinds of people. Then we can get along with others, by learning about where we all came from. It helps us understand so much. When I watch a historical movie, I imagine the characters are my ancestors. It shows me how they had to live, and it brings me closer to people I never even knew. I call my 3rd great grandfather, "Grandpa Jimmy," because that's what my grandma called him. I've read things about his life. I feel like i knew him. I believe in family. I want to help familiesto be closer. My grandpa talked about his grandparents and their descendents. It was so nice to hear his stories. I just want to find more stories about my ancestors. I love genealogy so much, that I've done research for atleast 9 other people who are not in my family. I think I love genealogy because of the hunt - and the thrill of finding the "missing" ancestor........

I have a link to the Campbell name..one of my great ancestors James Otway Clerk married a Martha (?) Campbell in Edinburgh Scotland. One of their children married a Charles Gunter JP. Charles is a descendent of Sir Peter Gunter (Gaunt d'Or)..as is my great grandmother, Minnie Matilda May Gunter. James and his line ended up in Jamacia.
