Hi Deborah, Didn't see your comment until today. My Mahaffey's came from Co. Down Ireland about 1852 to St. Louis MO. My Mueller's came from Ebersburg Germany, first to Philadelphia, then St. Louis in 1840. We seem not to have any connections. Too bad.

Hi Deborah. My Mahaffey's came over from Ireland though they are thought to have been Scottish originally and had to leave and go to Ireland. I know I have the death of the first one who came over from Ireland (Martin Hugh) died in PA. Then his son ended up in SC and a few generations later a Nancy Mahaffey married my Babb. I don't know where the other M's ended up. check out the Mahaffey's on GenForum. HTH.

Sounds good. Actually our February speaker, Michael Hait, invited me to join GenealogyWise- and now I'm hooked. Facebook didn't hook me, but I love reading and talking to other researchers. Have a good rest of July.

Hi Deborah,

The information I have is from the 1900 Census, Philadelphia. I haven't been able to go back any further than that on this side.

The KNOELL family I am researching are:

Charles KNOELL (b: 1849) married to Annie (?)
Children :
Rosie KNOELL (b: 1875)
Ida KNOELL (b: 1879)
Charles (Chas) KNOELL (B: 1880)
Thomas Francis KNOELL (my great grandfather) (B: 1881)
William Richard KNOELL (b: 1883)
Daisy KNOELL (b: 1885)

The surnames are spelled differently and it doesn't seem like the same family - but again, I haven't gotten any further back than 1900.
