For what reason did you start genealogy research?

I started at the request of my father,Bruce Monroe Vowiell (deseased) in 1981.He wanted to find out where his grandfather was buried-Archibald Monroe Vowiell.From there it just took on a mind of it"s own and I have been doing research on both sides of my family.
