Trying to knock down one of those brick walls!!!

Hallo, I am new to Genealogy Wise and to this group so thought I would see if there was any chance that someone out there might just be researching these particular families. My brick wall is finding the parents of Daniell READE born about 1650 and mainly being of Emberton.  He married Sarah HOOTON in 1682 at Gayhurst and I thought I would research the HOOTONs in an effort to find some HOOTON Wills that might just give a clue to relationships with the READE family. Daniell READE's son also…See More

Profile Information

What surnames are you interested in researching?
READ and variants; COZENS and variants; TYNNEY and variants; SHIRLEY and variants; SINCLAIR and variants; DICKENS and variants; DARTNELL and variants; MOYLE and variants; LAITY and variants; and many more! But these are the main surnames I am interested in.
What countries and other locations are you interested in researching?
Mainly the UK but also New Zealand and Australia for MOYLE and READ.
What is your level of genealogy knowledge?
Advanced Family History Researcher
If you are a genealogy expert, what are your specialties?
Not sure I have any specialities as such but have been experienced in all aspects of genealogy research for well over twenty years. Experienced in searching for and reading old documents and Wills as well as the normal Parish Register and Census searching.
For what reason did you start genealogy research?
I have always been very interested in history and just love going through very old ancient books and documents etc..

When my dear Dad died I then took over the research he had done into our family and have carried on ever since for well over twenty years now. I am the family archivist now as relatives give me various bits and bobs to keep, as they know I will treasure these things. To be honest, I am addicted, there are not enough hours in the day to dig and delve into my ancestors!! I must be addicted, as I love to research whether it's anything to do with my family or a family completely unrelated!!
Do you have a genealogy website or blog?

Hello
I certainly enjoyed the chat last night, and really has me getting to task on planning my trip I want to take. I have been to London and loved it. It did not hurt that it was during the Queen's official birthday trouping of the Color either. Saw the tourest spots, Westminster, Tower of London (which I loved), but best was Windsor it was so pretty there but did not get to see alot of the castle due to the family were going into residence there after Official birthday. Spent the day at the British Musum too. Have to blame London on my dark ale habit. I love the stuff . This was in 1979 so I am sure things have cnaged, and know I wont be going until after the 2012 Olympics. So I will use my time wisely and plan away. Once agaain great to meet you and I will get my county info togther and see what I can do with it.
