Yes, I have a Pearce ancestor! Mary Pearce (my 5th great-grandmother) married Thomas Jarvis in 1758 in South Huish, Devon. I do not know anything more about her. I know there were Pearse/Pearce people in the area where she lived but so far I've…
Hi, Teresa,
Welcome to the Pearse Group. Noting the wide range of surnames in which you are interested I wonder just where the Pearse name fits in. Do you have any Pearse ancestors?
Are you a member of Genes Reunited?
Best wishes,
Cecil
Hello again, thank you for your prompt reply! It is a shame we are not allowed to participate as unfortunately there are no male representation for this line now- just 4 female descendants! I did try messaging you on genes reunited but i do not have…
Hi, Tamsin,
Here is the link (http://www.piercednanorth.com) to the site making the free offer but I think you will find that they limit the offer to male Pearse (whatever spelling) descendants as they are following up the male line for their…
Hello there!
I am a pearse descendant and my mother and her cousin are interested in signing up for the DNA testing to see if we link in with everyone else. I am fairly proficient in tracing family trees but have hit a bit of a wall on the Pearse…
Further to your comment on Martha PEARSE ROWCLIFFE. Martha Pearse was the daughter of Philip Pearse (mother's name unknown) and she was married to Philip Rowcliffe son of Andrew Rowcliffe and Joan Harvey.
Sorry, Elizabeth, can't help with this as I'm not related to that Pearse family. There were a lot of Pearses around in Devon. Mine currently starts with Francis Pearse b abt 1580 in Ermington Devon - the tree is available on GenesReunited.…

HI, Peter,
Welcome to the group. I'll look into your family page and the info you have given about William Pearse - I assume the date you gave is that of his marriage. Strangely enough it is the birth date of William Hiscox Pearse (b. 1869 m…
Now it would be very lucky if one of the Pearse descendants from South Molton tested! Martha Pearse (baptized 23 Jan 1736 at South Molton) married Philip Rowcliffe 9 Apr 1760 at South Molton. Martha's father was Philip Pearse (mother unknown at…

I know there were Pearse/Pearce people in the area where she lived but so far I've not determined her parentage. I was hoping that maybe someone here could help me.

I have noticed that my web site is not fully up to date in that I have identified William's parents as Richard & Ann who married in 1841. Unfortunately the FreeBMD register shows that Ann was either Bartlett or Irish and I have not sent for the certificate
