With regard to Brenda's comment I do wonder myself if it will take off especially for us in the UK as it seems very US citizen orientated at the moment. I have made a couple of groups myself and have a few members in some of them but not sure it will receive as much interest as the Rootsweb lists which a lot of us subscribe to.
