Hi, Catrina! I've just set up the group - The Draytons and the Grimkes - on this site. Would you like to join? All the best, Bill Drayton.

Catrina, do you know of a Minus Chisholm who was in the 21st United States Colored Troops in the Civil War? He changed his surname to Drayton afterwards.

Hi, Catrina! Do you know of the book: James Island: Stories from Slave Descendants by Eugene Frazier Sr? I've been researching the Draytons on James Island. I expect you know that in some Census records James Island and St James Parish are placed together. Do you have any connection to the following families - Drayton, Weston, Bonneau, McKinlay, O'Hear, Holloway, Grimke, Davis, Washington, Leach, Snipe? Hope to speak with you soon. My cellphone number is 01144-7726-196253. We are 5 hours ahead jhere in the UK. All the best, Bill Drayton.
