Thank you for the welcome. I'm so flattered that you'd be willing to be "related" to me even after I confessed that I'll let genealogy slide for football... :-)

:) I hope we can start a new trend in sourcing, LOL! Since a couple of my major lines have books on the surnames, I have to try to see if I can follow the work that was done, but since the work was done back when people had to use documents and church records that I can't easily get to, some I have to take on faith/or instinct.

I'm glad I joined the group, a nice group of people so far. :)

Thanks, I hope to one day have names for the people in all of the pictures. That would be huge for me. These are pictures my grandmother had and she passed away before I really took an interest in my ancestors. Here's a thought, if they were slaves, which I highly suspect, how were they able to have such nice clothes and take these fabulous pictures??? Were they considered "fancy girls"? Oh as for Henry...nada. I didn't know his name until I started searching for Mahala. Check out my ancestry.com tree, it will show everything I have to date.

I only know of the 4 girls. If there was a son, I'm not aware of it. I also don't know when Molly left Kentucky. She died 9/6/1940. She was still living in Kentucky in 1910 (she lived with Mattie). My guess is that she moved to Wisconsin when Mattie moved. I haven't found that date yet.

Hi CaryAnn:
I'm going to post a few notes to your Turner challenge ... I know that _you_ have this information; posting it so that those helping to search, including me , have it for referral. Thx. --GJ

Sorry to be a pest .... In the opening of your Turner challenge, did you mean to suggest you did have your George in the 1880 census, or should that read 1900. Will you let me know? If you meant 1900, you can edit your original message. --GJ

I posted some census items tracing a particular Turner family (George and Cynthia) from Missouri back to Ohio, and to Jefferson County Ohio at 1850. More to do. Let me know if you've rejected these; if not, let's work on trying to prove or disprove, okay?

Thank you again for supporting the group Most Wanted.
I posted a comment re 1880 census to your challenge.

Separately, thought, George Turner married in 1886, right? Did you mean to refer to the five children in census of 1900?

About your target, George Turner, you wrote, "He m. Delilah Catherine Toothman on 26 Jun 1886 at St. Joseph, Buchanan, Missouri. They had a total of eight children, with five living on the 1880 census."
