"Dear Bridget, I am sorry to post this so long after but I have had a lot going on. The fist picture is probably after 1900 but I am going to look at some of my books that I have elsewhere. The second picture is actually older. The leg of mutton…"

Sherri S replied to Bridgid Kelly's discussion Sisters in Connecticut in the group Lost Faces: Ancestor Photos & Albums
"The center girl closely resembles a photo of my grandmother shirt and cameo dated circa 1907. I highly doubt any of the woman in the second shot are in the first. The shadows are harsh but they do not bear resemblances that I can see."

"In the first photo, the girls have the "Gibson Girl" look, which would be 1900-1910. This is just a guess."

Sisters in Connecticut

We are trying to identify the attached two photos, I think I have stared at them too long to be objective.  The one of the five girls contains my great-grandmother (standing with the black bow) and her sisters.  The second photo was was found in my grandfather's basement and is thought to be another photo of the sisters.  Can anyone help with dating them based on the clothing.  Personal opinions as to which ones might appear in the second photo would also be appreciated.  Thanks again.

Bridgid Kelly replied to Nora Galvin's discussion Out-of-staters: How do you do your Connecticut research? in the group Connecticut Research
"Is there a way non-Connecticut residents can gain access to iconn.org? It seems you need a Connecticut library card to access and I live in the mid-west. They apparenly have The Hartford Courant archived from the beginning."
