George Thompson, Sr. b. abt. 1670 and d. about 1740 is the patriarch of the family, he married Rebecca Williams. They moved steadly westward and finally settled in the Pendleton/Pocahontas Counties of West Virginia. By the time the third geneation was born a few of the received land grants in South Carolina and Georgia where the the established the southern family roots to which I'm loosley related to.
I'm actually related to the ones who remained in northern area, more closely.
