i am John Sheppard now living in Kentucky USA. I believe I am descended from the Sheppards of CastleSheppard and/or Clifton, but I don’t have a full paper trail of the line. My most distant known ancestor is James Sheppard b. abt 1797 Virginia who married Anne Williamson Lancaster in Henrico County, VA in 1820. My wife and I were in Ireland this summer and loved your beautiful country! By luck one amazing day we made a contact that got us to CastleSheppard and Clifton and I have learned more about the families of Capt Thomas Sheppard and his brother William (CastleSheppard).
I have tested y-111 and Big Y and am looking for a Sheppard in Ireland who is a known descendent of Thomas or William Sheppard, perhaps yourself, who also has y-DNA results for comparison.
Also curious if you have a FB account. The photo above is from my FB profile.
Barry, I am Joe Sheppard from Georgia USA I am a descendent of Thomas Sheppard who left Tipperary, Ireland about 1683 and came to Cumberland County New Jersey, USA. I would like to chat with you but just joined Genwise and not sure quite how.
