For what reason did you start genealogy research?
My faternal grandmother died when my father was only 6 years old. He didn't know about her family or life in Scotland (McKnight). My maternal grandfather died when my mother was about 10 years old. She (the family) didn't know much about her father or his family (Cross) in Texas or where they came from. I've made contact with the McKnight's of Scotland and have been able to provide my father with family pictrues and inforamtion but am still searaching for the Cross family ancestors.

Barbara,
Unfortunately those names are not names that I recognize. There appears to be a big argument about if we are related to one Cross or another, and unfortunately I only have information on Thomas Jefferson Cross who married Sarah Morrison and his parents. I'm hoping to learn more in the near future. My Cross family lived in Alabama for a while and I believe left for Texas. I'd be fine with sharing what information I have but I'm not sure how relevant it would be. However, it sounds like we have a common (albeit distant) common ancestor. Let me know what you think!~
