"Fannin GA had a very large Cherokee population. You might look there for info on ggrandmother and parents."

Mariah Jones b: GA abt 1825-30

Being full-blood Cherokee my grgrandmother and parents are most elusive.  Where are you to be found. All I know about Mariah Jones is she was born in GA abt 1825-30,, married my grgrandfather Thomas J. Weems in AL and had a lot of kids.  My grandfather Francis Marion Weems(Frank) was one of the younger ones.  Thomas J. was in Civil War eventhough he was 47 yrs at the time.  Mariah lived to be abt 96 yrs old dying in 1912 buried in the Haleburg, AL Henry Co. cemetery. Anybody out there looking…See More

William Jones b. abt 1799 GA married a Mariah ?

This is my grgrgrandfather born in GA abt 1799.  William is such a common name don't know where to start.  His son, my grgrandfather William Washington Jones born 1846 in Alabama married Catherine Phillips.They had  a lot of kids. Surely I have kin out there somewhere possibly as lost as I am.  Thanks for any help.

My grgrandmother Mariah Jones b:GA abt 1825-30 is said to be full-blood Cherokee married Thomas J. Weems and lived in Abbeville, AL Henry Co. I am looking for her parents in GA possibly migrated from NC. Any help will be appreciated.  I've hit a brick wall with this one. Thanks

Old Ninety-Six District SC Weems Family

My grgrgrandfather Moses Weems came from this area. He was born about 1789.  I believe his father was Thomas, Jr.  I have a copy of his estate sale(1806)where a Martha and Moses is mentioned.  I do not know if Martha was mother or sister. Moses later moved to GA and then AL where he lived until he died in 1851.  Any help appreciatedSee More

William Washington Jones b:1846 AL Married Catherine Phillips

I'm looking for any info on the parents of my grgrandfather William Washington Jones and Catherine Phillips. They had five daughters but I only have 2 names, Martha Jane(Mattie) and Ella. Mattie was my grandmother married F.M(Frank) Weems all of Abbeville, AL. Mattie's birthday abt. 1869 death 1918 at age 49.
