The Lancaster Intelligencer - Wednesday, January 3, 1990.  Funeral of Patrick Burke and Son.

The death of Patrick Burke at his home in Providence Township and his son James in this city which occurred within a few hours of each other on Tuesday caused a great shock to their friends.  James was 37 years of age and althought he was born in the country he came to Lancaster as a mere boy, and since made the city his home.  He lived with his uncle, James McFadden, for years and was a hack driver for his uncle, the late Patrick Cherry, John McFadden and others.  He had extensive acquaintances on account of his business and had many friends, as he was popular with the people.  The funeral of the father will take place on Friday.  Services will be held in St. Catherine's Church in Quarrysville, and the body will be brought to Lancaster to be interred in St. Mary's Cemetery.
