My g-g-grandfather, James Azel Rea (1827-1894), taken in Alaska, Kent County, Michigan about 1889. James had been a hotelier in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and had later built a flour mill in Marshall, Minnesota. He was born in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania and grew up at the Rea homestead on Conococheague Creek, at the head of the Amberson Valley in Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
