My immigrant Wenkels are August and Sophia Rohr Wenkel, who came from somewhere in Germany. They had many children, and my grandfather August is among the last born. He married Grace Elizabeth Tapp, and had 6 living children. My mother is Ruth Wenkel, their #5 child.
