Thanks for the directions to the cemetery. They sound easy enough to follow. But if I have trouble I can always ask a local citizen. My dad's cousin Alfred Vincent wanted to locate the cemetery where John Vincent is buried (Salem Presbyterian Church). He's a pretty smart guy so he went to the local post office first. From there he went straight to the cemetery with no problem.
Thanks also for the list of names of those buried in the cemetery. I may not be related to any of those people. None of the names appear in any of my research. It won't be the first group of Vincents to which I appear unrelated. The town of Vincent Alabama, which, by the way, is near g-g-grandfather John Vincent's grave, was not named for any of my relatives or their descendants as far as I have been able to research.
Also, none of my Vincents were from South Carolina as far as I know. What puzzle's me is there appear to be so many unrelated Vincents who settled in or about Anniston or Talladega county. I wonder how that could be sheer coincidence.

(Wish I could see your comment when I hit reply!!!) I have researched the Daniel name for many years-in Ga and until recently I did not have one. You will find at least a dozen variations of the name.
My particular one starts with Turner Scarborough and Elizabeth Daniell's who married about 1809-probably Emanuel Co Ga. Her Father was the Minister- born 1767 Brunswick Co Va where I have bunches of other folks on my Father's side, but this is Mother's. He died 1831 Emanuel wife Elizabeth Davis from Chatham Co NC
His Father William born 1743 Wilmington, New Hanover, NC-1840 Oconee, Clarke, Ga & Rachel Greenbury Howe
His Father John born 1707 Charles Town SC-1764 New Hanover now Brunswick
    and Sarah Raven
His Father Robert Gov of SC- born 1646 Cardigan Co Wales-1718 Charleston SC
    and Martha Wainwright
son of Robert of Scotland and Margaret James born 1625.
My ancestor Archibald Gray had a sister- Elizabeth who married 1816 Putnam Co Ga Dr Lewis Daniel bon 1794 son of Stephen of Edgecombe Co NC and Teresa Barnes, (Joseph, Simon)
My ancestor George A Brown who migrated to Sumter Co from Marion where his 1st wife died-married again and that wife died having a baby also. Both-He married a 3rd time-Loretta Josephine Daniel and I don't go far on her line-to Peach Co and Stephen Daniel from Ct. They had one child and were divorced.
Plus others I have worked on-over the years. It would of course be better if I had yours in front of me now-instead of someone's note about a cemetery!

    Hi Brenda,

I am doing some family history research for the Vincent line in my family, specifically Sarah Martha Willis (would be my 4th great grandmother). Everything I've looked at hits a brick wall at her. Has your research turned up any information on her? I keep seeing references to her nickname being "Cherokee woman." Have you found anything to confirm this nickname or native american heritage?

    Thanks,

    Andrew
