Finding tribal affiliations for families. I have 12 generations of Colberts who started with my ggggggrandfather James Logan Colbert. He may have lived on Plum Island,NC but could have come over on ship from England or Scotland. He married 2 Chickasaw Women and another half-blood wife. He traveled as a fur-trapper but would have to go to Savannah Ga to update his registration each year. He also, hired a man from Ed Teach or Black Beards Boat to help him load his horses and as a packman. He was supposedly named Hyde. They said he slept with some other Indians wife and they took his ears off. I am full-blood Native American and enrolled member of the Cheyenne/Arapaho Tribe. There is a town named Arapaho on the map close to where they found Black Beards Ship.
