Ross family of Moray, Scotland

My ancestors were from Ross Village, Northumberland, England as Angles. They were relocated to Moray, Scotland in 1201 C.E. by King David I. Their Y-DNA haplogroup is R-U106.

Actually, I have new information pertaining to my family. My ancestor, John David Ross, was born in Berwickshire, Scottish Borders, Scotland.

Here is some information pertaining to this:

The most common source is in the Scottish Borderlands in southern Scotland.  Here many persons with this surname came from a Yorkshire family called RosRoss or Rosse, who held land in Ayrshire in the 11th and 12th centuries.  Originally these people came to England with William, Duke of Normandy, in 1066.  Before this they were Norman-French who come from the village of 'Rots' located near Caen, in Normandy.
