I am researching the West who originated in the UK and migrates to the US in the early 1600's. Some of the older West settled in VA, NC. SC, GA, LA, MS, TX,, AZ ARK, TN, etc. We have taken the Y-DNA test. So if you think you are a relative or would like to correspond, please do so.

      What are your oldest West Ancestor?  Mine is James West, b. 1725, NC. Have your family  taken the Y-DNA test yet? Even though we have gone back to the 1650's.

        My 4th great-grandfather was William Nelson West (1775-1846) through his daughter Charity West. He is the "brick wall" in my line. My ancestry DNA test shows I share 8-3,476 cm with William Nelson West but also the same value to Thomas Oliphant West II (1718-1808). I am trying to determine then if Thomas is a sibling to William or a possible parent.  I also share 8-2,726 cm with Thomas West (1670-1740). If anyone can offer me any ideas about these DNA relationships or just about these individuals in general I would be most appreciative.
