My Virginia Ancestors: BELL, LAWSON, LYON/s, PEEBLES, PERRIN, RATLIFF, WEATHERFORD

William Henry BELL was born in 1826 in VA, married Sarah WEATHERFORD, whose mother was Rhoda LYON/S. Wm H BELL & Sarah moved to Mercer Co, KY and then to Breckinridge County.

William LAWSON was brought to the colonies as an indentured slave as punishment for his part in the Battle of Culloden (Scotland-1746). I have pretty much researched this line.

Capt David PEEBLES "..of Fife, Scotland. He was one of three hundred adherents of King Charles I condemned to the headman’s block by Cromwell who escaped to Virginia in 1649. He was married to Elspet Mackie, who probably died in Scotland."

One of my Rev War Ancestors is Reuben (Ruben) RATLIFF. There is much confusion over his birth year. According to the DAR headstone, it was 1759. According to the math (d.1852 at age 84) it would have been 1768. According to the Census records, it is 1767.

If anyone can help with William Henry BELL, that would be amazing as he is the line with the least information beyond him. We know he was a blacksmith. He married Sarah Weatherford in abt 1848. He was born September 8, 1826 in Mercer Co. KY or Bedford Co, VA and died June 13, 1887 in Breckinridge Co, Kentucky
