And this was the best translation of the bunch. My ability to decipher the handwriting may leave something to be desired.

I am attaching scans of the entries I have found to date. One is on Audrin, the other on Deniau. Any help you can give me would certainly be appreicated. I took a look at some of the other sites such as Moribahn and Ille-et-Vilane and found the one for Loire-Atlantique is really nice and easy to work with. I could wish for an index but what they have is a big step forward.

    Thanks, Anne!

    Hi Carol,

There are a number of us who have descended from Pierre Audrain. He is really a very interesting man. Some of the best work in this area has been done by Carrol Geerling, who is a distant cousin of mine. She is a very thorough and accurate genealogist.

Carrol and I both descend from Pierre Audrain through his son, James Audrain. How do you link?

One of the things that Anna's website and assistance has helped both Carrol and I with is that we disproved the widely held theory that Pierre Audrain was the son of Marguerite Denieu and Pierre Audrain. It looks like a great match but in tracing through the parish records and other records on-line we found that the dates and marriages simply do not work. Unfortunately, we still haven't found Pierre's parents or something of history in France.

Good luck with your search & if I can be of help, let me know.
