White is a relatively new surname in my research.  I am working with the Pittsylvania County, Virginia White family -- several generations of Jeremiah Whites.

My grandfather was Dallas White from Fayette county and Montgomery county Illinois. His father was Cleveland, then Ivy, then Stephen Roland White. I think their ancestors came from Adair County, Kentucky.

This is for all descendants of Thomas White, born about 1750 in Pennsylvania or New Jersey (Sussex County) and died in Virginia (now West Virginia)in 1802! He had three (3) sons: David White (b. 1774), Thomas Sylvester White (b. 1782) and William White (b. 1788), all born in Pennsylvania but moved to Virginia with their widower father in the 1790's:

Today I received the first $195 check to start the White DNA Project!!!!!!!!!

As soon as I have everyone's Ancestry.com DNA kit fee (at my membership price), the White DNA Project will commence!!!

I so look forward to having the group's results so that we will all know our White "roots"!
I hope each of you is looking forward to knowing our heritage "picture" as much as I am!!!

I can't stress enough how important it is for our whole family work to together on this -- it is OUR project -- OUR heritage!! If you have not committed to this very important project, PLEASE realize how important it is to all of our families and our descendants! So many people have expressed an interest in this -- and all participants must be MALE White descendants or we would have many, many more! -- that I hope the interest you have expressed will come to fruition!

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Jesse White, Jr. for being the first to step up to the plate!!!
And an extra thank you to Jerusha L. White for caring and assisting!

Please contact me if you know any other male White descendants who would be willing to take the simple 30-second DNA swab test! That $195 and 30 seconds of your time are invaluable to us all!

I am very happy to coordinate this project!

In my earlier post I repeated the name of Moses F. White's wife, Sarah Wills, where I should have used Sarah Dobbs, who is believed to be his first wife.
I recently traveled to Coffee County and Bedford County, TN to research. I found records of land transactions and a petition for a peddler's license that contained interesting personal information.
I welcome discussion with anyone interested in this family.

Hello Barbara,
So good to hear from a family member.
Thank you so much for the information about Thomas Jefferson White. I have been looking for a while and have not been able to find anything about his mother or father. I would love to visit with you more on the family.

I am looking for a Catherine White, who migrated from Ireland to Canadain the middle of the 19th century. Settled in London, Ontario and married Simon Healey. I can trace back to Catherine but not her family in Ireland.
