Leah, I don't see Edmund Horton in the muster rolls of Butler's Rangers but there are other Hortons here: http://www.royalprovincial.com/military/musters/brangers/mrbrmain.htm

It is also essential that you check the book An Annotated Nominal Roll of Butler's Rangers 1777-1784 with Documentary Sources by William A. Smy.

I am looking for information on Loyalst Rufus Green. I see he had land in Kingston, New Brunswick, Canada. I know he had a daughter named Sarah Green who married Joseph Stackhouse. I also know he came from Courtlandt Manor, New york. I would love to find out who his parents were as well as his wife and Childrens names. I found info that when he went to NS and NB, he had a wife and 2 children over 10yrs old, and 2 children under 10yrs old. Any help would be great!

Does anyone know anything about Edmund Horton who served in Butler's Rangers and after the war went to the Niagara or Lincoln area of Ontario? I believe I'm connected to him through his son, Emanuel, but there isn't much info on Edmund out there. Any help is appreciated.

I have relatives who are Loyalists. 1 is an ancestor but may not have settled in Canada. I descend from a sister of Jacob Holder. She married into a strong patriot family in 1785 (Rex). Is Vollink connected to Volck? It looks familiar.

My Loyalist Family members fought in the Peters Corp of the Queens Loyal Rangers who fought at the Battle of Bennington, which occurred in New York; go figure, and the Battle of Saratoga NY. They settled in Canada some returning to the US a generation or two later. I'm decended from one of the returnees
