Sheri, have you seen the book by Eugene Frazier Sr. - James Island: Stories from Slave Descendants? I have a copy which I bought on amazon. An excellent resource for you! All the best, Bill Drayton.

I am researching the Brock family that is mostly in Pendleton County. They moved down from Virginia, North Carolina to South Carolina. My ancestor is Henry Brock born about 1770. His children were born in SC but most of them died in Tennessee. Henry was in Greenville, SC in 1820.
Anyone researching this family?
Thanks.

Seeking information for Richard Scott born 1858 Richland County, SC. Richard 1858 was married to Eliza Seymore of Gadsden SC. They had 5 children, one being (Rev) Charlie Scott 1887-1965 my grandfather. I have found a reference that Richard was educated in 1870 in the Red Hill School in Gadsden SC. Any information as to Richard (1858) date and place of death, his parents, if free or slave (owned by whom), the Red Hill School is greatly appreciated.

Hi I am researching my Mackey family that appears to begin in Lancaster, SC. I have been successful in locating my great grandfather Alex Mackey and his parents. If you have any info on Lancaster county Mackey's I'd love to hear from you.

Calling on any SC researchers who may have taken a 23andMe test. Send me a sharing request over there and let's see if we have any HIRs.
