During a year long recuperation from a workplace injury and operation, I began creating the Olive Tree Genealogy pages. In the winter of 1995 a small version of The Olive Tree Genealogy made its online debut.

February 1996 saw Olive Tree Genealogy move to Rootsweb.com as the OTE site. In 1998 I was only able to return to work on a part-time basis, and my enforced and unexpected "free time" allowed me to continue developing and working on Olive Tree Genealogy site.

OliveTreeGenealogy.com was among the first to bring primary sources to the Internet with its Ships passenger lists from the Netherlands to New Yorkin the 17th Century. Immigration is a special love of mine and I have published hundreds of ships passenger lists on Olive Tree Genealogy
