Linda, You don't say where in Ireland ... which area of Cork? your O'Briens are from. My 2x great-grandfather Daniel had a brother called John born about 1829 at Ballygrace, Churchtown, Co Cork... My Daniel emigrated to London but I don't know what happened to his siblings. Maybe they went to the USA. They don't seem to have stayed in Ireland.

Hello, My name is Linda and I have been researching the O'Brien Family name for 19 years. I have gone back to my 5th great grandfather John O'Brien. I have pretty well got 9 of my 10 lines up to date. I am trying to find all the descendants of Tadgh Mor ( Big Timothy) He had 10 children that I know of. I have most of the lines current 2009 but still need alot of work done on the descendants living in Ireland. We have been 8 generations in Goulones. I hope to hear from someone who can work with me, trade information and enlarge our trees.

I doesn't sound like there is a connection there ... it's such a common name! Daniel went to London in the 1860s and most of his descendants are still in the UK. Later generations moved to Australia, New Zealand, Canada. I'm curious to know what happened to Daniel's siblings as the family are no longer in Ballygrace

Elissa - my O'Briens are from the Lisheen area, southwest of Skibbereen in southwest Co Cork. Don't know of anyone who went to Australia. Two of the O'Brien daughters went to New Zealand in the 1880s.

I am researching the following descendants of Charles O'Brien and Ellen Costello married 1820s, Ballygrace, Churchtown Co Cork (not SW strictly speaking but not far away) ... John, Johanna, David, Daniel and Charles... I have traced Daniel to the present day but would like to know what happened to the others.
