I am descended from John Locke (1700 - 1743) of Islington whose son was John Locke (1728-1764) who married Ealce Cathey before immigrating Rowan, NC. His son Alexander Cathey Locke (1757-1824 ) of Rowan, followed by Daniel (1790 - 1861) of Rowan, than L. Milo Locke - who seems to go by several names - born in 1847 - can't find out his death, who fathered my great grandmother Jarusha Belle (Locke) Perry.

Hello, again:  I was just purusing your messages and found that I had submitted a comment at an earlier time.  I never got any replies but maybe I'll be luckier this time.  Roberta Baum

After much research, my sister has discovered that our family genealogy is linked to Lars Karlsson Lock from Sweden - much to our surprise because we were always told we were of Scottish decent. Any decendents from Lydia (Lidia) Adams - my G G grandmother who was married to Hiram Locke GG Grandfather? My dad spoke of the Adams Locke reunions - he was from Philadelphia, so i'm only guessing that the reunions were in that neck of the woods? Any further information or hints would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I am new to the site. I am descended from Capt.JohnLocke;Rye, NH. He immigrated from UK in 1630? to Dover NH and then Rye NH. There is some indication that he was Christened in London and may have immigrated with a brother Thomas. I am looking for family connections and evidence in England. Thank you.

My Hall family of circa 1840's Rowan Co., N.C., had a female who had an out-of-wedlock child and was sent to live with Dicky family kin in S.C. to have the child. Since this was not my branch, I did not pursuer it. I think I came across it in N.C. State Archives, Raleigh, in the Rowan Co. bastardy bonds?

I am researching my wifes family of locke/lock family and will be glad to share any info i have. Her lock line begins with Leonard lock 1658-1711 in somerset county England an from there to Pa,N.C,Ga,Fl. What i am most interested in is her G.G.Grandfather James Calvin Lock who married Tabitha Cheshire an her mother was Tabitha hall who i am trying to prove that she is the daughter of Thomas hall jr. They went from N.C, To Ga, To hamilton county florida where she married the next door neighbor John R. Cheshire in 1828. She was either born in N.C. or Ga. abt. 1810. If any one has anything on thomas or tabitha i would love to hear from you. Thank You Jim

My great grandfather, Lutherran Rev, John Abner Locke Miller, of Rowan Co., N.C., wed Mary Ann Pinkston. His father was Capt Alfred Alexander
Miller, Co. K, 45th N.C Troops. Son of John Cyrus Miller (1811 Cabarrus Co., 1893 Rowan Co.) and first wife Sophie Propst, the daughter of Henry Propst, Jr., and Catherine Cress. I suspect the Hall connection is via Capt. Miller's wife, Mary E. or C. Hall, who's brother Pvt/Capt "Squire" Abner Leander Hall first wed Capt. Miller's sister, Susan Rebecca Miller.

Mrs. Mary E. or C. Miller and "Sqire Hall's parents were Issac Anderson Hall and Marry "Polly" Elliott. Mrs. Miller inherrited from rich uncle Solomon Hall (many slaves). Rev Locke Miller's, Locke forbear is a cypher. I suspect the connection is via Col. Francis Locke or his bother George Locke? Jim Miller, Southport, N.C.
