My great grandfather was Victor Glasspool and his wife was Margaret (Maggie) Sextroh.  Victor was born 1872 in Surrey, England to Jesse and Harriet (Wildy/Wilday) Glasspool who were married on August 30, 1952 in Egham.

Jesse was the son of a Robert Glasspool (possibly of Berkshire) and I am still searching for his wife.

Jesse's occupation before emigrating to Canada was as a 'baker, grocer' in Wokingham and as I mentioned earlier married in Egham.

Note #1, I have found no siblings for Jesse Glasspool, son of Robert Glasspool.

Note #2, Victor had 10 known (to me) brothers and sisters.  I tend to believe he was one of the youngest of his siblings, since his parents married in 1852 and Victor was born in 1871.  Below is a list of Victor's brothers and sisters (in no particular order).  Some may have emigrated to Ontario Canada with Jesse and Harriet (re-researching the date, but it may have been approximately 1880).

01. Walter Glasspool - emigrated to Ontario, Canada.  US?

02. Henry Glasspool - emigrated to Ontario, Canada

03. Charles Glasspool

04. Elizabeth Glasspool

05. Polly Glasspool

06. Ned Glasspool (died April ?) - maybe Ned was Edwin??

07. Kate Glasspool

08. Mary Glasspool

09. Tom Glasspool

10. Robert Glasspool - I have some notes that Victor's brother Robert married 'Sarah' and had 3 children Rose, Harriet (Glasspool) Kniep (spouse:  Louis Kniep (d. 1988) and Victor Glasspool (d. 30 Jul 1974).

My great grandmother was Edith Mary Glasspool who married Capt. John Newton Graham. They had a child Mildred, who was born about January 2, 1902. They lived in Oregon City, Oregon, where John worked in his family's business Oregon Transportation Company. Edith Mary had a sister named Alice. Later they moved to Seaside, Oregon and opened up a store. I believe Edith Mary's parents were Richard Glasspool and Ellen Mary Drewe Glasspool.

Does anyone have any information about any of these people?

Hi Richard! I can certainly add many more to your list of Glasspoole descendants! In specific, I have info on several branches whose Glasspoole roots are through a maternal link. My Glasspoole lineage is from my paternal grandmother, Karol Glasspoole.

I would love to touch base with you to exchange notes-especially on the LA and TX links you've located. My list involves many in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Virginia.

Dear Group!
My genealogy search culminated in the year 2000 identifying about 160 U.S. Glasspools since 1850.

Most Paternal Glasspool descendants from Charles William Glasspool (Tx and La, 1850) have been found, but we
still miss a lot of Maternal links....Maiden names Mary Glasspool, Fanny Glasspool, and Emma(Sara) Glasspool
births circa 1855 in Louisianna.

The best of luck with your searches!

Welcome Dawn,
Can you tell us more about Thomas, where in England he was born and the year he sailed to the US?

Greetings! I am a descendant of Thomas William Glasspool who was born 1812 in England and immigrated to the U.S., ultimately settling in Wisconsin. At some point after coming to the states, an "e" was added to the end of the name, leaving current family spelling the name "Glasspoole". It's my understanding that all Glasspool/Glasspooles can be connected as one family. I'd love to hear from anyone with knowledge on this family! I've done extensive research on the Glasspools and am willing to share. Hope to hear from you all soon!

Thrilled to have you here, A One Name Study wow. Let us know when you are ready to go. I will be very pleased to send you my Glasspool notes. Thinking about your George 1770, I wonderdered if he is the same one baptised in Brambridge RC, 11 Jul 1770 son of John and N. Glasspole of Bishopstoke Hants. Patrons George and Francis Glasspole.
Best wishes, Chris.

Thank you for the welcome.
I am busy researching all Glasspool's as a member of the Guild of One Name Studies. A stumbling block on my own family research led me to look for ALL Glasspools! My line in brief..
George 1770-1838 : Frederick 1812-1858 : Arthur Hamilton 1847 - ? : William Arthur 1877 - 1950 : John Robert 1913 : Christopher John [my husband]
I am at the moment taking an on-line course in ONS which is taking a lot of my time, but when it ends I look forward to taking more interest in your research.
