Good Resources

I'll update it with more as I remember them..

Wisconsin Vital Records - great online search, can see basic info, only $15 to order a copy - http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/vitalrecords/
Wisconsin GenWeb - there is also the Gen Web site. Good for county-related information. Some counties are better than others. - http://www.wigenweb.org/

I am searching for information on several families in Wisconsin. First, Berggren/Caufield family. Clarence Berggren married Lauretta Caufield in mid to late 1920's. Their son Robert was born in Cudahy in 1929. Any help locating their marriage would be appreciated. Secondly, I am looking for any information from Green County for the Troy family. James and Bridget had a daughter Maggie that married Patrick Caufield. Maggie and Patrick moved to Webster Co, IA sometime in the 1870's. Maggie was born in Wisconsin in 1860.

I am working on the family of Ira Daniel Ames of Dane and Rock Counties Wisconsin. I would like to find others working on this family. Ira Ames was signed in by John Ames into the Civil War. John Ames was his guardian at the time. Previous guardian was Harvey Campbell. Can anyone help me out?

I am looking for information regarding my ancestor Maria/Mariah Bastin who was born in Mineral Point in 1851 to Mary Ann Jaggers and John Bastin. The family eventually settled just over the border in Illinois, and I am unable to locate Maria on either the 1870 or 1880 census. She eventually went out west to Utah and married Jonathan Cyrus Harrington in 1882.

Again to Gwynn, The marriage of Walter to Helen is listed at the PGSA.org website. They married 11 Nov 1914 at St. Mary of Perpetual Help Church. This marriage is on film 1763433, item 2, page 44. I haven't searched this church so I don't know what information it will hold but most the other Chicago church records will tell the parents names and some will say from where in Poland they are from. Hope that helps.

To Gwynn Socolich,
Walter's obit was in the Chicago paper on 22 Dec 1957. Can't copy and paste because of copyright but it says his wife was Helen Zakrzewski. Sister was Josephine Bartnicki. Children were Martha (Wanda) Sakowski, Steve and Daniel.
Helen's obit on 13 Oct 1961 says children are Martha, Wanda, Stephen and Daniel and her son's in law are Walter Sakowski and Claire.
There could be a misprint on the Martha Wanda on one of the 2 above obits. Message me if you want me to send these obits to you.

Looking for my step father's family: BARTNICKI and LUCZYNSKI of Milwaukee, WI about 1920, I already checked the Census. The family seems to think that Luczynski family may have been Jewish. Walter Luczynski was the brother to my step dad's mother Josephine Luczynski and Walter's draft card says he was from Witowo, Poland.

Hi All, My Wisc family lived in Janesville, Rock Co. in from 1859 - 1860. They may have been there in 1870 too. The MORAN family included: Thomas born in Ireland 1820; his wife Mary Ann KELLY born in Ireland 1824; daughter Elizabeth born in Ireland 1846; son Tarns (Terence) born in NY 1853; daughter Mary born in NY 1854; daughter Sarah born in NY 1856; & daughter Teresa born in WI 1859. They were all listed on the 1860 census in Janesville. I have also found a record at the Wisc Historical Society website, for Elizabeth's marriage to John KIELLY in Janesville 1867. The Kielly name is a misspelling it should be KEELEY. I can't find a copy of the marriage certificate. Any suggestions on where to see the record online. Thanks.
