My father came to Bristol, where I was born, as a child. Both his parents, Charles HAMPTON b.1876 and Emily WATTS b.1885, came from Devizes. I have traced the WATTS side of the family, originating in Potterne, back to the C17. I would be pleased to hear from anyone having family links.

I descend from generations of the Gurd family who have lived in south Wiltshire from as far back as the 13th century to the present day. I have found no links to the early Gurds (yet!), but have paper evidence to confirm the family line back to the early 16th century in Semley and Donhead St Mary. The Gurds intermarried with many well known south Wiltshire families. I would welcome contact from anyone who has links to the family

Elizabeth Rawlings, my great grandmother, was born at Enford bap 19 Oct 1853 and the daughter of William Rawlings and Elizabeth Lywood. Elizabeth Lywood was born at Milston bap 25 Dec 1826 and the daughter of George Lywood and Martha Peck. William Rawlings was born at Enford 1825 and the son of Thomas Rawlins and Mary Dove. I have more information on the Rawlings, Lywood, Peck and Dove lines.

It is likely that my Isaac Farmer (b 1764) was born/bap at Collingbourne Kingston (bap 6 May 1764) and the son of John Farmer who was buried at Collingbourne Kingston in 1771.
