Hello. I descend from THOMAS M. WILKINSON, son of JOHN WILKINSON and CLARISSA MATHEWS. He was born 1828, Pike Co., ILLINOIS; died unknown. He married 1850, in Madison Co., Iowa to NANCY JANE BRINSON. They were pioneer citizens of Winterset, Iowa. Thomas was a Civil War veteran of the 4th Iowa Cavalry. He was wounded, captured, and interred at Andersonville Prison, but he survived the ordeal. I know little about JOHN WILKINSON, other than he was born c1800 in Virginia, and appears to have resided in Kentucky before Illinois. Some of the descendants spelled their name WILKISON and WILKERSON. I am seeking to make a connection with the correct Wilkerson family who would be John's parents.

The WILKINSON (WILKISON) Family of C18th Eastwood, Notts.

Current head of tree is Anne WILKINSON (probably born c1710 at Eastwood, may have been the Anne christened in Dunstable, Bedfordshire in 1707, d/o John & Alice) who married William LEES at Greasley on 17.5.1731 (my 8xGGPs).
Seeking Anne's origins.

Trying to find ancestors of Thomas Jefferson Wilkerson. He was born in Talladega, Ala. c.1849. His mother, Juretta Gover, born 1825, in Ky., married his father, Joseph Wilkerson, in 1847, in Talladega, but in the 1850,and 1860 census, Juretta and Thomas were living with her parents, and I can't find Joseph. By 1880, Thomas and Juretta were in Arkansas, no Joseph. My husband had his DNA tested, and he is a close match with a Dixon clan but so far he has had no matches with Wilkerson/Wilkinson. Would love to hear from anyone connected to these families.

Researching descendants of Thomas Wilkinson, of London, b. abt 1690 and married Elizabeth Caverly in Portsmouth, New Hampshire in August 1715. He had at least two sons, William and James, and a long line of Wilkinson descendants in the Piscataqua Region of Maine and New Hampshire. He is probably a cousin or father to Samuel Wilkinson of Deerfield or Epping, New Hampshire, who had children Benning b. abt 1764, John and Sarah (married to Spencer Wallis of Portsmouth and Exeter) and a long line of Wilkinson descendants in the Lakes region of New Hampshire.

We no longer have Wilkinsons, but our family went from Seymour, to Wilkinson, to Wilkinson-Seymour..... In Basford Notts(1833) and in The Green, Thorne Yorkshire, 1840's before moving back to the Bristol to Birmingham corridor.....
