My sister copied info our Grandmother had, this is how it went. Great Great Grandpa Hale was Lewis Hale b: 1821TN. d: 1912 in CA. buried Potter Valley CA. Louisa Hale b:1830 d:1881 buried next to Lewis. Daughter Ella Nora(Hale) Son, Charles Samuel Hale, and poss John, and sister Emily. Members of the Methodist church and were of English German and some Irish Descent. Charles Samuel Hale died at Colusa, CA. Oct. 19, 1904, a native of Missouri. Funeral Christ Church in Williams CA. The Hales crossed the plains in wagon train with Gillespies, who went to Yuba Co. and the Hales went to Sonoma. then on to Mendocino county, and settled in Potter Valley, CA.. both families.

Yes, I have DNA from my Hale line and it is 12a.I think you and I have a distance of 4 with 67 markers and that you match Jaime the most.

Beyond the location in Tennessee, the Y-DNA, if any male Hales in your line have tested, would also be a good indicator. The direct line males of this particular bunch all belong to Y-DNA Haplogroup I2a2* Isles B2.
