Brenda, et al, have you tried searching via http://mocavo.com or the Allen County Public Library online at http://archive.org/details/allen_county? Those sites have surprised me more than once...good luck on your search.

Hi Kay, there are several other relatives who have not been able to get past Isaac and Mary either.  I search on ancestry.com quite a bit and other online sites as I have time to find any leads or make contact with others who may have info on my Cox line.  We've looked at local library in books they have but one of the things that is confusing is that there is more than one Isaac Cox in WV.  One ended up moving south to another state and seems to be well known as far as his military history.  Mine was born around 1795-1799 I believe in PA.  My grandma had a great memory and told me lots about her and my grandpa's families about older relatives she knew.  She only knew her father-in-law, Josephus (Joeseph, Joe) but never really heard about the line further back except that they came from Greene Co, PA.  I'm not sure just when Isaac died but someone has him listed as died abt. 1870 in Pleasants Co, WV.  I haven't verified this, but it makes sense since that's where my family is from and he was there with Mary in the 1860 census.  1850 census shows them in Tyler Co, WV - I just can't recall how the county lines ended up changing when WV split off from VA into a separate state - maybe they lived in the same place both times.  I appreciate any suggestions you might have.

Brenda, Where all have you searched?  Do you have any dates for birth or death?

Looking for parents of Isaac Cox who married Mary Wise and came to WV from Greene Co, PA around the mid-1800's.  Have never been able to find out for sure who his parents were and if they also moved to WV or stayed in PA.  Any help is appreciated.

Laressa, do you have an Isaac Cox in your family that married Mary Wise?  I have found two different Isaacs in WV.  Mine had a son, Josephus who I'm descended from and they lived in Pleasants Co, WV.  Please let me know if you think what you have is connected to my line.  Thank you very much.

My lines are from WV, mainly Pleasants Co.  These lines are Cox, Coss, Bowie, Leeson, Webb, Smith.  Anyone else researching any of these lines?  Please connect with me if you are.  Thanks.

Jeanne, my great grandmother, was Anzelly Liston. She was a Liston, then married, then don't know what else before she married my great grandfather, Mc. Martin Liston.

It could be possible that the birth date is wrong. I know that I have found a difference on a few of them. That could very well be true about his WWI Draft card. I do know that railroaders are in my family and that my granddad has said that one of my great grandfathers took the last steam engine out of West Virginia when they were done.
