Yes, while following a blog chat on Genealogy Wise on how to blog if needed, Sackets celebrates every July with soldiers dressed in War of 1812 uniforms and march near the banks of the park on the Lake and fireworks are shooting out.
They have done this about 20 to 25 years now, great to see it and a party or town event is held. This month was fewer events but a museum showing the Harbor back then is onsite for all to visit! :)

Welcome, Dave!
I'd love to hear more about the festivities! :)

New to the Group, I live near Sackets Harbor NY which yearly holds its feast of events of 1812 with soldiers parading and a setup is made near Lake Ontario.
I have no relatives of that war, some of the family moved there and my sister is now there but like to see the events of that era!

Welcome to the War of 1812 Group! :)
While we are a small group, it would be great to use the comment section as a 'getting to know each other' forum. If you have queries about how to search for your War of 1812 veterans, please add a discussion.
