Robert Walker was not actually my ancestor but he was a business partner of my ggg grandfather, Daniel Anderson, in Petersburg. The other partner was Archibald Gracie of New York, builder of the Gracie Mansion, now home to NYC mayors. So Walker is really a collateral line I'm investigating to try to get more information on my Anderson ancestor.

Tammy - I would like to know more about your Warren family and I think they connect in the 1600's to my Walker family. Marie

My research is mostly in Virginia and I also live here. My families came into Virginia in the 1600's and never left. The Walkers, Allens, Childress, Isbell, Ellett, Jennings, Parker, Gill Families are started out in Virginia

My husband's biological family name is Adams. His birth father was Warren Clayton Adams, illigitement son of Ocie D.Adams and Marshall Thomas Hipkins. and Francis R. Dunnaway. Ocies parents were Archibald D. and America Virginia Dowdy Adams of Bedford City, Bedford, Virginia. My husband was 2 1/2 yrs old when the 3 children were removed from the home. He was adopted, his sister was raised by an Aunt, and the baby was put with a foster family, who raised him, but never adopted him. We found the siblings and the mother. Warren died in 1974, before we could locate him. Am trying to locate any information on this family.

My gggrandparents were Thomas and Sarah (nee Alsop) Walden. They were born in va.They married ca.1795 in Spots Co.
I have info on Sarah and can trace her lineage back to England in the 1600's.
However,I don't have any ibfo on Thomas' parents nor any siblings.
A working theory with abit of proof seems to indicate that Thomas' father was a Lewis Walden.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks Elaine.

Hi Bonnie - thank you for contacting me.
My Barnett Ancestor named William married Catherine Vance in Ireland.
My ancestor, Alexander Barnett b. 1754 in VA served under a Vance in the war.
They were in PA then VA then KY.
The above ancestor's son John I. Barnett married Sally Kenney in Bourbon Co., KY.
She was the son of James Kenney and Mary Frame, grandfather was named Barnett Kenney born 1726 in Ireland. We are trying to determine if the Barnetts and Kenneys were connected in either Ireland or Scotland, since there was the Barnett Kenney on the Kenney side in Ireland.

Susan, I did some research on the Kenney family of Virginia as my sister's deceased husband was a Kenney. Also there was a Judge Kenney here in
Harrisonburg, Va. My Vances were in WV/VA/PA. Where were yours in this country?
