Hi Mark,
I am researching a Nottingham, England Varley family for my best friend. Her maternal grandfather was Herbert Varley b. 1893 in Nottingham. In the 1901 census he and his brother James Varley b. 1894 were in a paupers home and were shipped to Canada at different times. They are shown living together again in the 1911 Canada Census. We got a copy of his birth register which shows his parents as Henry Varley and Eliza Ann Britton. Henry was a lace maker. it has an address of 47 park street, new lenton (?), nottingham from july/aug 1893. if you have any information on this family or ideas of where else i can look (ancestry is my main source and google) it would be greatly appreciated.
