Looking for Joseph Tucker...... Do you know his parents?

 

My 5xgreat grandfather, Joseph Tucker, born in 1792 in NH. He was a soldier in the War of 1812. 

 

Joseph then met and married Catherine Church on in New Hampshire.

 

Catherine Church, the daughter of Nathan Church, was born in New Hampshire on 30 Nov 1802 and died 18 Jan 1864 in Massena, St. Lawrence County, NY.

 

In this union, Joseph and Catherine (Church) Tucker had eleven children:

Adaline was born 11 February 1821 in St. Lawrence, NY. She married Archibald Willard in 1839. To this union they had six children. In 1880, the couple and their children relocated to Oregon. Archibald died in 1882. She died from heart failure at her home on 25 Mar 1895.

Aurilla was born in Massena, NY on 2 April 1825 and died in Wisconsin on 1 Nov 1864.

Harvey was born in 1825 in Massena, NY. He married Lavina melissa Staley in Port huron, St. Clair County, Michigan in 20 May 1852. In the 1860 Census, he is shown in Ira, St. Clair Co., MI with four children: Susan (b.1853), Lyman (b.1855), Mary (b.1857), and Douglas (b.1859). Harvey (age 37) enlisted in Company C, Michigan (Volunteers) 6th Cavalry Regiment on 11 Oct 1862. Hu mustered out on 14 May 1864 at Fredercksburg, VA. Harvey fought for the Union side in the Cival War.

Marvin was born in August 1828 in Massena, NY. He married Ellen, had five children a pair of twin girls. Marvin died 5 Feb 1894 in Massena, NY.

Susan was born 15 Nov 1829 in Massena, NY. On 11 July 1851 she married John Dodds Beggs. On June 15, 1855, John and Susan purchased forty acres in Portage County, WI. They had fifteen chldren in this union. Susan died on 15 Nov 1829 and John on 2 Oct 1909.

Maria was born on 11 Nov 1831 in Massena, NY. She married Monroe Proctor from Vermont, and died 2 Dec 1892 in Massena, NY.

Catherine was born on 5 Jan 1824 in Massena. She married Edgar Hitchock Eddy on 20 Jun 1849 in Sparta, Monroe Co., WI. Edgar Eddy was born in Vermont and then moved to St. Lawrence, New York where he met Catherine. For a shortime, Mr Eddy pursued a teaching career. Then in 1854 they moved to Wisconsin, traveling by rail to Chicago, thence by water to Milwaukee, and overland to Monroe County. Mr. Eddy enlisted  (Union) in Dec 1861 in the 3rd WI Calvary. He was honorably discharged at madison, WI in Jan 1865. After the war, he returned home to resume his pursuit as a farmer. He owned 200 acres and in his time was the “most desirable farms in the township.” To this union, six children were born.

Joseph was born 21 May 1836 in Massena, NY. He died 25 October 1895 in Massena, NY. Joseph enlisted in the Civil War on 11 Jan 1861 as a Private in Company B, New York 37th Infantry Regiment and mustered out on 5 Sept 1862. 

Nelson was born 5 Oct 1839 in Massena, NY. The year of his birth is really unknown. The 1900 United States Federal Census is the only Census in his lifetime that request the month and year of birth. It is recorded as “Oct 1838” but yet the tombstone reads 1840. According to his discharge papers, Nelson enlisted on 7 Nov 1861 for a three year service term in the California 5th Infantry. He was discharged on 30 Nov 1864 for the completion of term. Nelson married Lucy B. Berry on 4 Jan 1874 in Sparta, Monroe County, Wisconsin. In this union, Nelson and Lucy had seven children.

Josephus was born in Massena, NY on 10 Sept 1843. In the 1880 Census, his home was Almond, Portage Co., WI. His occupation is listed as a single farmer with no children. He did having a servant housekeeper and two borders living with him. He died 12 May 1886 in Plainfield, WI.

Joshua was born on 7 Dec 1846. He remained in New York until sometime between 1860 (in Massena, NY) and 1870 (in Sparta, WI), according the Census’. Joshua enlisted in August 2, 1864 and was discharged in June 30, 1865 for rheumatism. After discharge, he met Annette Alice Brown and married her. According to the 1870 Census, they had one baby and brother Nelson was living with them in Sparta, Monroe Co., WI. There were four children born into this union.
