Of 5 siblings, Caleb Trask was born in New York. Almond, Alanson, William and Phoebe were born in Connecticut. I have found a nest of Trasks in central NY, including a Noah Trask. Naming patterns fit these two families together perfectly, but there are caveats, one being proof! "My Trasks" are all found in Bradford County, Pa in 1840 and after. If you are researching Almond or Alanson's descendants please contact me. This is a broad statement but if you want more detailed information I can post it here or email it to you.

I have just found this site and was thrilled to see someone has started a Trask page.

I have a Caleb Trask born 1820 in New York that I have been working for nearly 30 years trying to find his parents, esp. his father. Maybe something will turn up through networking here.

The photo I've added to the group is of my great uncle Bert Trask (left) and my grandfather Kenneth Rattey on the beach in Bournemouth. They were brothers but for complicated reasons their births were registered in different surnames and they both grew up using different surnames.

Tim, My Trasks are also from Merriott. I've never been able to find a baptism for my gg grandfather James Trask. He was born any time between 1821 and 1827 either in Merriott or Crewkerne. I believe he's the son of Samuel Trask and Mary Sweet. I've not yet attempted to take the line back any further. I think we need to compare notes!

One of my great uncles a George Richards married a Alice Trask in Bermondsey in 1898.
I have traced the Traks of Merriot, Somerset to a John Trask born in 1670.
Do we have a connection?
Regards
Tim
