Thornton from Ohio. Looking for the parentage of Edwin/Edward Thornton.

My mom's maiden name is Thornton. I have the line traced back to an Edward/Edwin & Maude Belle (Miller) Thornton. Various records show his place of birth as: Ohio, Virginia, & West Virginia. He may have been born in Henley, Scioto County, Ohio. I don't have a birth date for him, but Maude was born 16 Jan 1860 in Hamilton County, Ohio to William H. & Sarah Harriet (Bell) Miller. Edwin/Edward & Maude were married on 22 Dec 1886 in Hamilton County, Ohio. He died between 1892-1900. I have not been able to locate a death record for him. Maude died in Tuscarawas County, Ohio 28 June 1941.

They had 2 sons: Neil Adair & Robert N. Robert was a police officer in Lake County, Ohio. He lived from 1892-1932. He & his wife Venus/Curlie did not have any children. Neil Adair Thornton was born 16 Jan 1888 in Hamilton County, Ohio. He married Lenora Hanna on 20 Sept 1911 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. They had 12 children: Leroy, Daughter, Harold, Robert, Lela, Helen, Shirley, Eugene, Darelene, Charles, Delene, & Cleo. Neil died 8 May 1954 in Dover, Tuscarawas County, Ohio. Lenora died 30 Jan 1980 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. Eugene Edward Thornton was my grandfather.
