If Experience Bliss married Manship Spiller, she would be an Experience Spiller.

I can see this is going to get out of hand very quickly.

Manship Spiller is a good one. Sorry, Jeanie, trying not to snicker to loud when I tell you this one. Hope Manship doesn't Spiller salad dressing on the one family member that I found on my tree this morning ... Stacey Lettuce -- she's like my 13th great grandmother.

Actually, Manship Spiller wasn't a Quaker. But he was a Southerner.

Those Quaker names were a hoot.

Can you imagine the grief a kid named "Manship Spiller" would get these days?? Poor kid.

As my mom would say, "I kid you not!"

Manship Spiller (stop that snickering, now!)

One of my favorites isn't really funny, but amuses me anyway: Union Belle Sanders, born in Louisiana in 1862. See, it's the context. She always seems to have gone by "Belle," by the way.

Am doing some more research on my dad's family and found a couple more of these definitely different names to put here. Seems like the more I hunt for branches of the family tree the more interesting names I find.
Waiting Robinson -- wonder what she was waiting for?
Increase Robinson -- Waiting's brother. Hmmm...my mind definitely has a few things running through my mind on HIS name. lol

Sorry Paula... I found your group immediately after I posted my discussion along the same lines... oh well!

Here's a couple more for you. On one side of my husband's family, we have a family member named Jethro. Hopefully he was a little bit smarter than Jethro from the "Beverly Hillbillies." lol
On the other side of his family tree we have a branch of Crabtree ... no pun intended there. lol

So far:

Casablanca (male)
Roxie May (male...went by the nickname of Jimmy; do we blame him?)
Marmaduke Milton Miles (male)

I have 2 ladies named "Thankful Chase" in my tree. And, on my husbands side is a "Dymple Elizabeth Vandiver".
