History tells us that there were 3 fifers and a black drummer at the battle of SanJacinto and that they only knew one song I have been reserching this for a long time but I'm not very good at reserch. I have found that there were at least 2 more musicians there a fifer and another drummer by name of George Brown GB was a Drum Major but I know not from where. At his death his wife came from New Oreleans to claim his belongings. To be called a Drum Major one would to have had to be in the military I have his Texas service record but it doesn't include where he was from or from what unit. He would have been in the US or English service 1834 ?? or before
