I believe they may be in that general area but I could be wrong. From my research so far, they immigrated from Scotland and settled in Grayson County, Elk Creek, Virginia and also Flat Ridge VA. I know through the research, that I noticed several name variations from Sutherland, Sutherlin, to Southerland.

Does anyone have any information on Feby Sutherland? She married David "Blue" Cornett. Born: March 15, 1808 and died March 5 1885. (Flat Ridge, Grayson County Virginia) The following blog is all the info I have on her at present. Kelly's Blog

is the sutherland family the same as the sutherlin family from danville virginia-later generations spelled the name sutherland mark
