My ancestry in Sidley only goes back to the 1920s, but as local historian for Sidley I have a lot of info about various families who lived there, in particular in the 19th century.

Well Lynn, as you know (we were in touch in 2006) there have been many people with the name Ransom in the Sidley area, going back over 300 years. A quick computer search reveals that I have 306 files mentioning that name! But as to which of them might be 'yours' I am sorry I do not know. Among other things I have transcripts of censuses 1841 to 1901 of families living in Sidley and have transcribed many articles from local newspaper archives from the late 19th century to fairly recent times about Sidley and its residents.
