The picture is of St Michael's church, Yorktown, Surrey. It must have been taken before 1930 when the road in the right hand corner foreground was lowered some ten to fifteen feet to level the hill making it safer for the growing number of motor vehicles!!

Veronica,
My Veness Tree has a Boxall connection. Charlotte BOXALL married Aaron VENESS 13 Nov 1814 Ewell, Surrey. Can supply further details of Aaron Veness if anyone is researching this line.

Ann

My interest Surrey lies in the BOXALL name and variants. I began researching the name for my own family but as I accumulated more and more data I decided to turn this research into a One Name Study World Wide. Hence I registered with the Guild of One Name Studies. That being said I now have an extensive BOXALL database and would love to be of assistance to anyone who is looking for help. You will find I have also set up a BOXALL group.

My grandfather was born in Rotherhithe, on a street right in the docks area (Purnell Pl). Interested in any local history, particularly 1840-1910.
