Permalink Reply by David Clark on June 5, 2011 at 4:09pm I am at a brick wall with Esther Still/Stull b. about 1826 in NY, m. about 1848 in IA to Jacob Phillips b. about 1824 in PA. Their children were all born in IA and named Mary E. b. about 1849 Delaware Co., Caroline b. about 1853 (might be a few in between), Darens? C. about 1854, Susan K. b. about 1857, Fannie Louisa (my gggrandmother) b. 6 Jun 1862 and Elvira b. about 1864.
So, if you see any solid connections, that would be great.
Thanks,
David
Permalink Reply by KIT on September 2, 2011 at 11:25am MAK I would be happy to compare Stille/STILLEY lines with you! You can catch me in the chatroom thru the week! Please come over and look me up! Olof Stille immigrated from Sweden in the 1640s and settled near what is now Philadelphia. His descendant Jacob Stilley settled near Pittsburgh during the Revolutionary War era. That is that is where my family still lives.
Permalink Reply by KIT on March 26, 2012 at 12:14pm So far I am not seeing any connection to our families! It was worth a try!
Permalink Reply by KIT on May 9, 2013 at 1:59pm MAK keep in touch I can not find where we are related but some of the family did use different spellings and seems like all my family used STILLE and ended up with STILLEY but I will keep your information in with my file incase I find anything different! Happy hunting!
