I have considerable ancestry in Stamford - Lundy, Silverthorn, Chisholm, Miller. - and have done a fair amount of research on these lines.

My first Stamford Twp. ancestor would be Rebecca Green born in Philip Bender's barn, 26 Sep 1786. Her parents crossed the NIagara River nine days before she was born.

So glad to see somebody else in this group!

Names I'm researching: Kalar (Kaler), Glow and Mucklehone.

I'm not very sure much of their history other than:

Kalar: Were supposedly loyalists from West Virginia who came at the end of the Revolutionary War. I've found them in censuses. Sometimes their name is spelled as Kaler. Two generations later my descendants moved to Cayuga County, New York and their children spread out: my descendant settled in Colorado.

Glow: I know absolutely nothing about this family unfortunately. :/

Mucklehone: So far I only know this: "John Mucklehone came into the province of Ontario about 1785 with his wife, Elizabeth, and three children. John Mucklehone had come from Ireland to the U.S. (N.Y. State). At the end of the Revolutionary War he immigrated with his family to Welland Co. around 1785."

I lived in Stamford Township from 1950 to 1966 and doing family history on the following names: Hamill, Large, Munshaw. I have a lot of gaps to fill but willing to help with what I have or know!
