Welcome!

Hi,
The South West Ohio area consist of these Counties: Adams, Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Fayette, Greene, Hamilton, Highland, Madison, Miami, Montgomery, Pickaway, Pike, Preble, Ross, Scioto, and Warren.

Some of these Counties I have never worked with before, but I can hunt up some info for all of them and post it. Please jump on in here if you know of any great site's for these Counties!

Please feel free to post where you are looking and who you are looking for, you never know when someone might be able to give you a lead. I have some sites for the areas I am working on that I will post. As I find sites for other Counties in the SW I will post them also. Please, if you have any links for the area's you are working post them so maybe they can help someone else out.

Thanks,
Lori

Hi Lori...when you type in the info for the archived articles, you will no doubt go to the Wayback Machine...type the same info in their box and the smaller box leave marked "any"....you will get there, I promise!! Sorry.....

Hi Lori...Well, some of my info I don't have access to at the present time because of the distance and some may not exist on the web anymore..because I have been working on my family's many sides for so long!!..But to begin with, if you are in the area drop by the Portsmouth Public Library's great lil' genealogy room downstairs..hours and info are at..www.portsmouth.lib.oh.us/genealogy.....
This is a new site, I believe, and I skimmed thru it and can't wait to go check it out...www.ohiogenealogyexpress.com/scioto/........This next one took a minute
to find and I was glad I could because it is an archive and it has lots of great stuff....http://web.archive.org/web/20031207010702/www.scioto.org/Scioto/
catalogs/catalog.html.......Now, if you go into Articles and Stories and find The
Story of a Hill Feud...that is some of my ancestors, especially the Browns and Holsingers-with all their craziness!!......There is always Rootsweb and they have Scioto County, OH, in there somewhere, too....If I can help ya, just let me know.

Hi Brenda do happen to know of any good sites for researching in Scioto County? That is not a County I have ever done research in so I don't know of any thing that might be of help to someone. The sites I have added I have just found doing searches on the internet.

Louise,
As best as I can figure is...when you post a comment an 'x' shows up so you can delete the post you made. Much like if you add a 'discussion' after you post it there is a thing at the bottom that gives you 15 minuets to edit the post.

Hi Kevin,

If you look in the thread for Hamilton County Information you will find 2 different link's for City Directories. The second one is not the library, it is a guy that had been putting them on line. There are some Norwood directories on there as well as Cincinnati.

I can look through the books I have, do you have any kind of dates?
