Welcome!

Hi,
The South West Ohio area consist of these Counties: Adams, Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Fayette, Greene, Hamilton, Highland, Madison, Miami, Montgomery, Pickaway, Pike, Preble, Ross, Scioto, and Warren.

Some of these Counties I have never worked with before, but I can hunt up some info for all of them and post it. Please jump on in here if you know of any great site's for these Counties!

Please feel free to post where you are looking and who you are looking for, you never know when someone might be able to give you a lead. I have some sites for the areas I am working on that I will post. As I find sites for other Counties in the SW I will post them also. Please, if you have any links for the area's you are working post them so maybe they can help someone else out.

Thanks,
Lori

Hi Everyone,

I have added Libraries and Genealogical Societies for all the South West Counties. They are in the Discussion Forum listed under South West Libraries or Genealogical Societies, there is a post for each.

I also did some rearranging in there. I put all the things that were posted for a County in a thread for the County. I will add more to the County as I get more sites. I also have not listed all the Counties yet but will work on that the next day or so.

I hope this will make it a little easier to find things . You will not have to really hunt all the pages in the Forum to find info for the County you are looking for, I hope.

thank you for checking so fast. im checking out a relative on my husbands side. a john rayner who was married to a elizabeth wainwright. i have info already on a jabez rayner who was born in piqua. so my rayner check only went to john. wondered if there was info on his dad and mom.

Hi Louise,
It seems as though it is. I did some hunting around and Piqua is in Miami County, just north of Montgomery County where Dayton is. I will do some hunting around and try to find some useful site for that area, as well as the other Counties I found to be considered Southwest Ohio.

What and who are you looking for?

Sue,
Did you know that Highland and Clinton Counties connect to each other? I was not sure where in Highland your people were but I found some Quinn's buried in Clinton Co. I will post them in the Discussion Forum.

Hi Sue,

Yes Highland Co is in the SouthWest area of Ohio. I have not done a lot of research there, as my people were in Hamilton, Clermont and Clinton Counties but I will sure look around and see if I can't find some helpful links for you.

I'm from California,so please tell me if Highland County is considered to be in southwest Ohio. I have lots of Scotch-Irish,Methodist Quinn relatives who lived there in the 19th century.
